Vesuvius dominates the beautiful gulf of Naples and it is the most known volcano in the world which still attracts the mass media attention.
The itinerary starts from 1000m high and it finish at 1175m. We also go through some hairpinturn from which the view is fascinating. What is extraordinary is observing the previous lava flow really near your position.
Duringour climb, we can notice the old Somma Volcano which is separated from Vesuvius by Gigante Valley. We walk along the crater until we arrive at Capannuccia: here, we start climbing down.
